Almost 1 AM.
Brain isn't ready.
Starting to take Marvel seriously again. It's hard, bro. Captain America-Shield/Sentinel-Drones/Taskmaster-Vertical
Nope. Fuck this team. Cap doesn't fit the role that I want on my team, so I'll have to look elsewhere. I'm starting to actually like Vergil and Strider, though.
I'm back at square one for my team. I think I'm going to actually put a real effort into learning Vergil, just as I did with CapAm. My Cap can do the combos, but I get too caught up in being fancy with flip+assist crossup bullshit. I did it in probably 25 matches against a friend and it worked probably 15% of the time. It's bad, dude. I need a teleport character if I'm gonna do shit like that.
All I can say for sure is that I'm going to learn Vergil and see how far I can take him. Then, I'll look into building around him. All I know for sure is that I won't be doing anything at all with Dante, so Team DMC is out of the question.
Dante is too much bullshit to try to keep up with it. I DON'T FUCKING CARE ABOUT YOUR SUPER SLICK STYLE FAGGOT.
I Wanna play against king on Mortal Kombat Kollection for PC :(
MAYBE.
But in the mean time, this situation should do.
Fighting game-wise, I also think I should get some MVC3 practice.
But not feeling the "mood" for Iron Fist, since he's the one who needs it.
So, probably going to practice MK stuff today, since there's that MK collection on Steam, and I pretty much forgot Kabal's combos.
Probably also getting some SC V in between.
It's a nice plan.
MVC TIME!
@Brit or Spiders
In your opinion, which characters complement Iron Fist?
I'm doing well with Iron Man and Wolverine, but I feel like there's something lacking.
Iron Fist doesn't have a an Air Dash right? And I know his launcher doesn't hit in the air, if he's on the ground. So my initial assumption would be that he doesn't play a good air game. Try and find a character who has an assist that can help control air space while you close the gap to your opponent since Iron Fist has literally no ranged tools.
So I guess that means characters like: Sentinel w/drone assist, maybe Taskmaster since Taskmaster is great at everything though; I would pretty much only use his horizontal arrow assist since they do so much chip damage, Strider w/ his teleporting dive kick assist; which counts as a hard knock down so it's pretty good, really there are quite a few... You could always use HIDDEN MISSILES. :nerd:
I see...
That's why I like Iron Fist, ground damage output, and kinda Fei Long-ish.
I will probably try replacing Wolverine with Sentinel, since I'm not 100% efficient with him.
If he doesn't work, Taskmaster, or others I find useful.
Avoiding Strider because...he's kinda the one that made me realize I was missing something.
Regardless, I smell online experiments coming.:awesome:
dead serious, go to this place, http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php...-on-irc.63398/
fought some dudes on there, ass royally handed to me.
Iron Fist has terrible movement options. Dash, walk, and jump are his only means of movement. He has limited mixup potential on aware players. Your primary offense will rely on a fast assist (preferably not a beam or other projectile) that can catch people pushing buttons. Since he has no left-right mixup potential, his best options for assists are things like Frank's Cart, Akuma Tatsu, Phoenix Overdrive, and maybe even Phoenix Wright's Paperwork.
Well, from the testing, so far I find Sentinel and Akuma to be the best for that former Wolverine spot.
After my quick Sentinel practice (never played as him) and online playing, his presence alone makes some players do some fatal mistakes.
Of course, I need to figure out some moves properties, so until I'm good enough with Sentinel, I can't be using him against mid-high skilled players, otherwise it's a sure defeat.
For now, Akuma serves the bill for mid-high players, mostly because I can easily figure how to "combine" him and Iron Fist.
I will pretty much being using both of them in the future, for variety purposes.
Still need to try Taskmaster too, need to remember that.
That is all.
And now, to Mortal Kombat.
Arcade stick got here, practice is needed.
