a friend threw me in the deep end of a pool when I was little (like 10, I was barely over 3 feet tall, and the deep end was 5 feet) after telling her I couldn't swim, I nearly drowned that day, someone lifted me up out of the water though.

So yeah, that technique didn't work for me ;)

I had pretty much the same treatment, I am really scared of deep water. I can't float.
