Digital
Digital is nice because you can boot it without having to change discs. There's something special about having a physical copy though. Plus you can let friends borrow a disc, or sell it when you're done with it.
For handhelds, I prefer digital copies or EverDrives, but for home consoles, I'll take physical media any day.
I feel safer with having physical copies. DIgital might get lost over time.
Digital is far more convenient but there's nothing quite like opening the box and flicking through them game manual before inspecting the disk and putting it in. Almost ritualistic
i perfer physical copies
I like having digital copies because they don't take up as much space, and I can hide my nerdiness when I see fit because I own hundreds of games; I like that just looks excessive.
I really like the convenience of digital copies, but as a nostalgic gamer theres something about the feeling of take on my hands a nes/snes/genesis cartridge that i can't explain.
twice
i love digital copies because its nice seeing a list of games you own and you won't ever lose them! i have so many games lost and never to be found
Digital. More convenient.
In my opinion are physical copys better ^^
Well, I like collecting physical copies because they're fun to collect. But I also like digital copies because it has the DLC already in a digital copy. I've got a digital copy of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on PS3, and it had the DLC inside there. It was on sale, and I got it for $8. That's a $20 value!
Digital over physical disks for me
Digital, too much clutter in this day and age.
As long as I have fast download speeds and the digital copy is safe on steam cloud or backed up somewhere, then digital is the way to go.
Physical. Hands down
Physical for the goodies (artbooks, soundtracks, guides, etc.) that come with the game
Digital for ease of accessibility
Digital for ease of accesibility.
Physical for the goodies!!
digital all the way
physical
Physical copys over digital any day
physical releases won't die.
just like the paper books.
physical for boxes and goodies
Physical so I can use games with unofficial hardware
digital is the future. i totally understand why smoe ppl like cds but its just not usefull anymore.
Digital copies are the best
Always physical, but I am warming to digital
I would MUCH prefer to have a physical copy, but thanks to Steam, I'm addicted to the cheapness of digital. For example, I always wanted Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii, but it is really expensive (around 75 USD or more) but on my Wii U, a digital copy is 20 USD.
I generally prefer physical games but since its hard to collect older games I'm fine with digital for them.
I feel like physical on PC these days doesn't even exist, even if you get a disc it'll probably redirect you to steam or the like. As for consoles... I'm too lazy to get out of the couch :)
I agree with you completely; not just these days though.
I've been both a console and computer gamer for most of my thirty something(fudging hell I'm old...) years- and, thinking about it- even pre internet days, I was less interested in having physical copies of computer(not just PC- ZX Spectrum, Amstrad, Amiga- all came before my 386!) games.
Whether I want to admit it or not- piracy probably had something to do with this. When I was a kid, I'd feel cooler than my friend if he had the original Shadow of the Beast and I'd got a dodgy "cracked" version. :pirate:
Also- right back to my NES and Master System days and even further back to my 2600 and intellivision day) the boxes/cases were just more appealing and nicer to look at and display on your bookcase! They were(pretty much) all uniform in size, they looked like some kind of proper collection when you'd got enough of them in a row; but, for me, the best thing about console games over PC games(starting with the Master System, I think?)- was the fact that they were PLASTIC! So much better than the over sized, weird sized cardboard of PC games...
Hang on, SNES games still came in cardboard boxes, didn't they?..
Never mind that... I think my ramble was completely off topic too...
Peace.
Whoops.
I prefer digital.
Both have their advantages. I like to own things, but I like automatic cloud sync too.
physical digital takes up way too much space on memory after a while, plus i don't want these games that take up 45 gigs to be on my system
Physical copies were amazing. There's nothing like finding an old manual and going through a nostalgia trip. Too bad they're becoming more and more of a thing of the past.
Physical just feels too prone to failure for me. At least with Digital, you can make a lot of backups and everything is available online.
Ok
digital for convenience, but since most digital requires an online connection for verification, i prefer physical
It really depends on the game and the situation for me. Overall, however, I prefer digital because it's just more convenient. Appealing CE's at times entice me to purchase physically.
