They are very mind opening books. I used to be a die-hard Christian, but after reading these books I realized how foolish most organized religions are.(I apologize to anyone if that came across offensive) Saying that, the title can be misleading but you can only understand it if you read them. This book definitely changed my life forever.
the three books in the dragonlance chronicles. the original trilogy of that.
First part of Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
I was flipping through The Great Hunt the other day, book two in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Not my favorite book, but I'm going through them all in order once again. The best one in that series is The Shadow Rising.
I just began re-reading the Shannara series by Terry Brooks, currently on First King of Shannara, the prequel. I'm also reading The Republic (by Plato if you didn't know), which I was considering reading after I finished First King, though I don't usually read more than one book at a time. It was actually a little strange . . . through some twist of fate, I was assigned a project at school that had "Plato and The Republic" as one of the choices for a topic, which I selected since I was going to read it soon anyways.
well...in english class we recently finished The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet (which wuz ok). and we also just finished Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton, which wuz 1 of the most boring books ive ever read. we are now reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
I've been flipping through a bunch of books lately. I read through The Incredible Hulk: Abomination the other day, which still remains one of my favorite books. I was just tired of reading Wheel of Time, so I picked it up. Also, I took a gander at Sky of Swords, which is a very weird but masterfully pieced together bit of intrigue. I loved it.
Ragnarok Volume 9 was the last thing I read besides forums.
I borrowed a collection of stories by Friederich Nietzsche from my dad, but I've been too busy to start that. To anyone who's starting to read Nietzsche: Be very careful. This is part of Hitler's reasoning behind the entire Third Reich.
Yes, but that is because he interpreted a phrase wrong. Where Nietzche refers to the ubermensch as being a "golden beast", he read Aryan, whereas sane people see it as a metaphor for strong, as in the lions mane.Quote:

I bought some books at Powell's,(HUGE book store here in Portland) and so far I've read Fight Club, Jurassic Park, and Lone Wolf in the Shadowrun series. Currently, I'm reading Streets of Blood also in the Shadowrun series. :D
immortality~michael kundera
top notch.been a while since i've read a book in this genre of such calibre.extremely well written,i'm watching out for more titles by the same author.
Well, I'm stuck reading my freaking history book, which is actually not that bad, as it has all sorts of vicious propaganda headed Bush's way, or that's would I make of it! I envy you guys, I have to read the same shit till my exams...ARGH!
Umm...Solitude--I thought Immortality was by Milan Kundera, Micheal Heim edited it or something, maybe I'm wrong, dunno. Vaguely remember!
Anyways, I still am bloody stuck reading about ancient shit!
I took a quick scan through White Oleander again today. Mallory left it at my place over the weekend and I forgot to give it back to her at school. It's a decidingly charming and enthralling novel; I love it.
i just got done reading Resident Evil Code Veronica Book 6 by S.D. Perry its kinda old but i love the reading that series of books
I just got done with my gamepro magazine it was great.
I'm currently reading "famous Last Words" by erm....Jonathon something...it's a great book, and I advice all of you to read it.
"Quien Es?" - Billy the Kid
I just read "The Greatest Generation" by Tom Brokaw. This book was an excellent read and i recommend it to all of you. The book commemorated WWII people, that weren't recognized as much as they should of. The book is about 400 pages, but its worth reading it.
Otherland: City of Golden Shadow by Tad Williams.
Brilliant novel. It's sort of like Lord of the Rings in that it's four books that were supposed to be one, but they had to release them separately for size and the fact that he has to pay the bills. It's a science-fiction novel about what happens when rich people get a little too greedy. I love it; this is my fourth time reading through the "series." It's about 4000 pages in length.
I've read Tailchasers song by the same author, never got around to reading other land though.Quote:

I really recommend it. Tad Williams' is a genius. Otherland is a lot different than Tailchaser's Song, but just as good if not better.
Ok than, Ill try and get around to reading it someday soon.Quote:

Ummm...Darkfire Bird Book One. It's nothing you'd have ever heard of, cause my friend is still writing it.
Ender's Game by Orsen Scott Card.
I just finished it today; it's really really good in my opinion. A quick read as well.
I'm currently reading Hunter X Hunter
I'v outta nowhere the past couple of days decided to read the LOTR trilogy book series again so I'm currently doing that:P
I'm currently reading Monsieur or The Prince of Darkness by Lawrence Durell. When I'm done with that, I'm going to go through the Discworld series... How many of those books are there? 26?
Oh yeah, I'm also planning to read Ondskan (The Evil in English?) by Jan Gillou, since I happened to see that elite movie based on it the other day.

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky . Just started it, and I like it. Not love, but like.
I think there's 30 Discworld books.

Hmm.
Think I'll read God's Debris by Scott Adams again tomorrow. Good stuff.
Myst: The Book of Ti'ana and Myst: The Book of D'ni, both by Rand Miller and David Wingrove. It makes me want to play Myst and Riven again, but I loaned out Riven years ago and haven't seen it again.
I read some Nora Roberts..
I've only read Book of Ti'ana, but I really enjoyed that one. Those are great books.Quote:

Anyways, I just finished Sea of Silver Light by Tad Williams, the final volume in the Otherland series that I mentioned earlier. There are a bunch of parts in the series that are very inspiring - a bunch of them occur during this novel. The ending, however, is a little too happy-go-lucky for me.
The only reprise I get is the presence of a romance - well, more than one, but whatever - that is built gradually through the series by the four - two sets each - main, main characters. There's really about 12 main characters, and he writes from the perspective of about 8 of them, excluding Flossie, Quan Li, Sweet William and Javier.
I recently read "The Elder Gods" by David Eddings. It was a great book, but I was expecting better.
I am currently reading The Syndrome by John Case. It's a freaking good book. Thriller.
i'm reading 40 Days of Purpose. it's part a church campaign hting that many chruches seem to be doing now.
I READ VBULLATING HACKER MANAUL!! IT WORKD!
Dude. Duuuuuuude. I so have those two games, and have the D'ni book. Nostalgia city. And I got the Uru game, but I need some time sometime to play it. Oh yeah, and right now, I'm reading Carter Beats the Devil and I just finished The Explainer , which was basically a buncha strange questions with answers. Yeah.Quote:

EDIT: Whoa, hey, I read the 40 Days of Purpose book, too! But that was like 3 months ago. Right on.
