Can someone please recommend some settings for star ocean till the end of time?

I have been trying to play star ocean 3 for the past couple days and every thing runs and looks fine until i get into most battles. My frame rates crash at times and everything becomes super slow-mo during battles. I have also noticed that cubes of previous scenes stay in place when the next scene appears. I was wondering if anyone had a good setup for pcsx2 1.2I have an intel i7-4770k, 16gb ram, and a gtx 780 video card. I have been messing around with the settings for star ocean but I can no seem to get this problem to go away! I ship out for BCT soon and would love to beat this game before I have to endure the struggles of boot camp so any help is greatly appreciated.

Save States should be used with caution, always use the games builtin save function since save states are unpredictable and you really do not want to be far in a game try to load your save state and its corrupted and you are SOOL since you never made a actual in game save. :dread:

If its for a very simplistic console like NES/SNES/Genesis/etc. its pretty rare for save state corruption but anything that is pretty complex like PSX/PS2/etc. you are asking for disaster if you don't made a actual save.

Save states usually also save settings so changing settings then loading a save state may revert setting or some settings and yeah save states can be corruptive to the games so never use those exclusively, it's loading of save states that can have a chance of causing errors (this applies to all emulators though it may be something you might not of seen as it is a chance not a certainty even with SNES Genesis and even something as simple as NES can also corrupt though reasonably rare to do so)

Oh haha I feel dumb now. Now that I think about it I really didn't start using save states until about 5 hours in and the problems started happening shortly after that. I will restart using the recommended settings and just play normally. Thank you all!

you could just create a memcard save from the save state pos then close the emu and reload it making sure all the settings are changed then and load the game and make sure you do not load a save state then load up the memcard save

no need to start again from scratch
