PCSX2 Won't Get Past Title Screen (Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly)

System: Mac OSX (Mavericks) Version 10.9.5
Processor: 1.8GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Didn't touch any speed hacks

What is my problem? It managed to load the title screen, with options to start or load game. Since there's nothing to load I start a new game (easy/normal). Clicked that and the screen fades to black (like in the PS2 version) with background music still playing. After one minute the music stops, but the game never starts. AND my laptop is a bit noisy until after I quit pcsx2.

HELP! I don't want to give this up because I love the game and my PS2 is kind of beyond help. (I also spent about 12 hrs just to download it.)

I'm not a Mac user, but Mac build still stuck on older version due to compatibility and such, so that's why this game (as well other games) will have issues while running on it.

But try the the 0.9.7 or the 1.0 version (official and user made respectively), if you can run it.

If you have Windows, then I'd highly advise to use it instead, as the game runs fine on the Windows version and have much better compatibilities as well.
