Go ahead and discuss about the PS4! :really:
How about you start first? If you created this thread I'm sure you have an opinion yourself, after all.
Also, thread moved to General Gaming...
ps4. unless it gets more jrpg than the ps3 did (in the west) i wont get it. yeah the hardware is good, but i pretty much suck at other types like fps.
My opinion: The PS4's Dual shock 4 Controller is awesome, the games are wonderful, PS4 online is free while Xbox ONE is paid.
Yeah I'll be getting one, it will add to complete collection (excluding PocketStation) & I've seen quite a number of games that looks good, Final Fantasy 15 will be one of them, I just hope they do an awesome job on it, the game play trailers look amazing. Playstation plus for online play play is cheap, I think it's $50 to $90 a year depending on what country you live in which I think is still cheaper than Xbox Live. I'm glad they made it region free like the PS3 considering I buy my games overseas because my country overprices them & doesn't have a much of a selection, it's just the mainstream ones, so we don't get any games I want to play. I wonder if they'll do a Japanese limited edition one like what they did with the PS3 when it first came out where it had backwards compatibility & massive HDD, well I know the PS4 will have backwards compatibility on Gaikai but that sucks in countries like mine where they have super stingy data caps.
Oh boy, aren't you cool. Coming from a big iOS fan, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you don't really care for quality games. What's the point in even getting a console if you're just gonna "hax" it to play crappy fan-made games? And who the hell is even hacking the Wii U anyway? There's nothing to play on it. Why don't you just stick to PC then? And why did you even bother making a thread about the PS4 when you don't even seem to care or know anything about it?
I haven't really looked into the details of the Ps3 and Ps4. I'm a PC gamer but my bro and I were thinking about buying a PS3 to play our old games and some new ones. Ps2 graphics weren't too good, I'm not too sure a Ps2 game would look so different when ran on a Ps3; but what matters mostly is the reverse compatibility. I hear the Ps4 isn't getting that, and apparently as mentioned above Ps4 is requiring a fee for online play. If I do own a Ps3 game I might just check out the multiplayer for the hell of it really so I wouldn't plan to pay for membership.
Growing up we owned a Ps1 and Ps2. Personally, I'm very comfortable with the Playstation controller setup which is probably the second reason why we never considered the Xbox (the first being our Playstation games). Google imaging the ps4 controller, it looks pretty boxy. Can't say till I actually try it out.
PS3 does not have backwards compatibility with the PS2 - the original 60 gig "fat" models do, but they can be hard to find since those early units were susceptible to the Yellow Light death. There are some PS2 games that have been emulated and can be downloaded through the PSN store, but the selection is limited.
PS1 is compatible with PS3 though - almost every game works.
As for PS4 requiring a fee to play online, so what? It's only $50, and it's PS+. You'll not only get to game online, but you'll still get tons of free games and huge discounts - it pays for itself in no time at all. It's not a rip job like XBL
