New Computer Graphics Issue

My New Computer:
Gateway NV55C
Intel HD Graphics (Core i3)
Intel Core i3 processor @ 2.40GHz
4096MB Ram
320 GB HDD
4 GB DDR3 Memory
Windows 7 32bit

I used these stats on my last computer, and loved it. The graphic quality was perfectly good, and there was hardly any slowdown. Overall, I was really really happy with it. I figured when I got this new computer I would just put in the same configuration and boom, back in business. If only life were that easy...for some reason on my new computer, which on paper should be a better, more up-to-date computer, these settings aren't cutting it. The speed is still great as usual, but for some reason the resolution is worse and it's a lot more pixelated than the other computer. I've tried playing around with a few things, but I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

HQ2X stretched or HQ3X stretched

recomend 640x480 for the HQ2X filter or 1280x960
recomend 960x720 for the HQ3X filter

the above are multiples of 320x240 that is the native res of the PSone/Playstation/PSX
