Sega CD with Gens, General FAQ
Needed files:-
Gens The Emulator to use
Sega CD Bios (U) for American CD Games
Mega-CD Bios (E) for Euro CD Games
Mega-CD Bios (J) for Jap CD Games
Setting up the needed files:-
Run Gens and use the Option drop down and click on Bios/Misc Files... then click Change far all the CD bios images and click on the files needed and click Save, do this for each CD bios needed
Extra options:-
Another option that will improve on compatability is Perfect Synchro, and is off by default for slower machines, but nower days it shouldn't effect the speed
To enable this look in the CPU drop down and click on the option Perfect Synchro
Name your CD games:-
Here is an example of how they should be named
Name of iso.iso
Name of iso 02.mp3
Name of iso 03.mp3
Name of iso 04.mp3
and so on..
Sega CD games in Gens actully run better with iso/mp3's than burning them to CD.
#Note on naming files:-
If you have the file extentions hidden do not add .iso or .mp3 to the end of the file name, just rename the rest of it.
Formating Memory to save with:-
Load the CD game from the File drop down and Open Rom... and when you see the Sega CD/Mega CD Logo and asked to press Start on your pad, press B on your Pad instead and then go to Memory and format both the Built in Memory and Cartridge Memory so you can save your game in game, you will need to do that once with each CD game you have.
I will add more to this or edit it if needed later.
To Do:- Update for Fusion and add screen dumps from both emu's
