Just found this Beats of Rage
Basically it's a copy of Streets of Rage using sprites ripped from King Of Fighters. I'm in the process of downloading the PC version now (it's freeware).
There are also free versions available for:
PS2
Xbox
Dreamcast
Well worth checking out I reckon, full source is available as well as a couple of editing tools should you wish to get creative yourself.
Yeah, I found this on DCEmulation a few days back, but being without a burner, I've yet to try it out. I'll check out the PC version, cause it looks pretty nifty. :)
Just played that game - it isn't bad, but it definately needs polishing. Also compatibility with XP isn't the best (this is being fixed). For the moment though it works fine, just the sound is a little crackly at points (VDMsound gets rid of that though).

Sonic Attacked
As with the first game nothing majorly brilliant, but some people may like it. I found this pretty faithful to the originals from a quick play - badly needs some filtering modes though IMO
