Problems with lunar SSSC and ePSXe

So the game lunar sssc wont run at all in epsxe 1.60.it freezes at the intro after you start a new game.So i tried using 1.52 and while it does work its nearly unplayable.Theres no sound in it at all,there's random freezing and when you go into the menu its just totally a black screen and while you CAN save through it its impossible to go back into the game afterwards.Any ideas?my computers super powerful enough to run it and i dont think its one of my plugins.

Did you configure it correctly?

Post your plugins settings here. Are you using iso or disc to play?

If you're using the P.E.Op.S Video Driver 1.15, did you remember to activate the special game fixes: "Ignore Black Brightness Color" in the configuration? This fixes black screen problems, at least.

If your using P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.7,try configing it, then hit the Configure Button you see there, then uncheck, Change XA speed, that is under XA Music.

Heres is another game id use CVGS with.. It runs much smoother and better..

hmmm,lets see.To get it to run i have to use 1.52.So the plugin's for 1.52 are this:

Video:Petes open GL driver 1.75
Audio:P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.7
cd:Mooby cd disk image driver 1.6

Im running this from ISO and havnt tried the cd,it is a copy of the game after all and i suppose it would do the same thing.I looked in my sound plugin and it has the xo thingy checked although i didnt change the speed.In the intro of the game the sound runs for like 3 seconds and then theres a strange hiccup in the game where it will freeze super fast and after that theres no sound.What do you suggest?

My copy of Lunar SSSC Disc 1 worked fine with ePSXe v1.6. Here's what I used (hope this helps):

1) Video: P.E.0p.S. Soft Driver 1.15
Resolution & Colors
- Full screen + 32 bit
- Stretching: Strech to full window size
- Dithering: Always dither g-shaded polygons (slowest)
Framerate
- Transparent FPS display
- Use FPS limit
- Auto-detect FPS/Frame skipping limit
Options
- Activate special game fixes
... - > 0x0001: Odd/Even bit Hack
... - > 0x0004: Ignore black brightness color

2) Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41
- Enable Sound
- Enable CCDA Sound
- Enable XA sound
Configure
- DirectSound + 64 Buffer size
- Wait for XA buffer is free ->0 fine tine, rever: Neill's
- Thread
- Update before accessing register

3) ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2 for Cdrom plugin

With my configuration above my game works fine. I hope that would help.

sweet!those 2 special fix's got the save screen of lunar working perfectly.And im getting SOME noise now but its horrilby static'ie and really scary sounding.Any ideas?i used the suggested sound plugins....

alright!after downloading eternals sound plug-in and activating the "update before activating register"it seems the sound is working!.....but!,its super super low!i have to have the volume on max and even then i can barely hear it!normally if the volume was on max the rest of the entire block could hear it,thats how loud it would be.So is there a way to again adjust the sound?Also,its not a major thing but ever since activating those 2 special gfx fix's the text has been kinda messy,Its readable but....is there a way to fix it?like,the f has the straight line missing and stuff.what do you think?

Can you take a screenshot...and you do know that each computer has a few things different. Perhaps fiddle around with the settings like taking one thing off and see what happens...I had to fiddle with a few of the settings to get mine working too ><


But I'll definitely try to help. Btw you can also try other sound plugins like Pete's one as well...maybe that might be better for your com ><
