NGPocket and Dive Alert (NeoGeo Pocket Related)

Okay, I'm using NGPocket v0.1213 and I'm playing a ROM called Dive Alert (Matt/Becky Version). The problem in the emu is that I can't maintain my save states after restarting (i.e. I can save and load, but when I restart the emu, I can't load).
Also, Dive Alert is said to be fully playable, yet after I finish a second round of trying to save that Mr. Jun whatsis at the beginning of the game, the game freezes.

Also, please don't say:
(1) Buy the real thing and don't steal (um, I'm just trying it out here!)
(2) Use NeoPocott (it doesn't work properly)
(3) Play another game! (Buzz off if you can't help)
