Cooking :: How good are you?

Just out of curiousity, how good are you at cooking?

I'm pretty good, but I just found the one thing I'm horrible at cooking. Mashed potatoes. Want proof?

No, these aren't instant mashed potatoes, these are my attempt at making REAL mashed potatoes.

We could've done without that pic, XKR ;) It looks rather icky. I can cook fairly well, I can make myself dinner if I need it, but it's more laziness that gets in my way than anything else. I used to like cooking when I was younger, now it's become a chore, so I don't cook very much anymore.

Those patatoes look just a little watery.

I don't cook much, except for like frozen pre-cooked stuff. Stick it in the oven for twenty minutes, bam, it's done.

Not only are they watery, they're chunky too!

I'm pretty good at cooking .. that is, when I actually cook.

Well...
When I'm alone, I kinda suck in cooking, except my speciality: a chocolate cake ("Fondant au chocolant" in French); though I do it different every times! :evilgrin: (hard to describe... the taste is still good, but gets different each time :grazy: )
It is mainly because I don't have the idea.

But when I cook with my mother (and I think it is the same for you) or my father (yes, he also cooks), I do quite good! :shades:

im actually pretty good at cooking.......have to do one dish a gfew tiomes befor i actually get it to taste good....im a little lazy to do it very often though:P

Cooking? Well, i can live off of Ramen Noodles, or a TV dinner. I'm great at making desserts, though. I'm just not the one to create a 'culinary masterpiece', unless i get the recipe off Emeril Lagasse's show!

Also, those mashed potatoes look like cake mix or something. Mashed potatoes, or so i remember, are supposed to look happier than those. :ugh: :wacko:

I'm merely ok. Just the plain simple stuff. But I haven't cooked anything that you just had to barf.

the closest i get to cooking is boiling water and putting cheese on bread.

I can do tacos, fajitas, spaquetti and toast, as well as about anything that requires heating up. That's really about it... with a cookbook, I could probably cook up a storm - I'm good at following instructions, as long as they are laid out properly.

Yeah. I also like salad wraps, but that's just throwing some salad in a bowl, pouring in lots of Thousand Island dressing and dumping a hefty portion onto a taco shell.
