I'm planning to get a Saturn so I can chip to play back ups. Any tips or recommendations? Or is there a Saturn of a specific region I need?

You're best off getting a Saturn for your region. Whatever it may be.
For example NTSC-U/C - North America.
If the Sega Saturn's not going to have a region mod/cart on it then you need to patch ALL ISO's to your Region BEFORE burning. Or your modded system WILL reject it. That's how it goes.
I highly recommend a modchip over swap trick. So yeah, if you're gonna get one follow my advice.
Ignore the above post.
some saturns are unmoddable with a chip,
I believe its the one with 64 pins.
you really cant tell untill you open the saturn up.
So thats kinda hit and miss.
and most chips have a region switcher,
where you hold button combos like A+c while turning on for japan,
a+b for europe and none for usa as long as its a usa saturn.
the have model 1 and 2 saturns that look differently on the case.
and I beleive theres diff chips for the different models.
Buy a pre modded one from eBay. Problems solved.
Not really since you can't always trust eBay >_>
How does the swap trick work on the Saturn anyway? Is it the same as using the Swap Trick on a PSX?
Ebay dosent sell modded consoles anymore anyways,
it will only work on one of the types of saturn.
check out borman sig for a tut.
Your facts are all wrong. Swap trick works on both model 1 and 2 Saturns. I have proof because I used to USE the swap trick on a model 2 Saturn. My general understanding is that swap trick works BETTER on model 1 Saturns than it does model 2 Saturns.
Wow, that modification seems simple.
I need some confirmation on the models thing though. But I guess I'll get a Model 1 Saturn.

I think that from what I've heard Model 2s are best for modding, and Model 1s are better for swap trickin' on.
