megaman battle network 4 blue moon problem

ok, I hope this is the right forum to post this problem...
anyway I dled this rom from the site, and I have a problem when I get to the woodman story... I jack in the park area and when those wooden needles start to appear in the floor, whenever Ienter a fight and win the game freezes... I don't think it's an emulator problem, and it seems that the problem doesn't happen in red sun version neither, but is there a way to fix it? I don't want to start all over again...(btw I use the (U) version)
what should I do? try to (E) version? change to red sun? I hope there's another way of fixing this...

That's strange, I was able to complete that game using Visualboy Advance. Are you using the latest version of the emulator?

yeah, I'm pretty sure I am, I dledit a few days ago...

The newest version of VBA is 1.8.0 beta 3, which you can get here if you don't have it:

mmm... I dled that version and it somewhat helped, now instead of freezing in a black screen, it becomes heavily slowed down for a few moments, then it fixes itself.

now I can get back to play this wonderful game!
