Default Trying to make Castlevania work on SSF

I can't get this working and searched online for solutions. I downloaded two different dumps, one of which was posted on this forum. I tried running the game with all region bios and all area codes. I turned off the bios. I burned the thing to a cd and tried running it without a virtual drive. I tried it without a cartridge It keeps on bringing up the cd screen with the message "Disc unsuitable for this system" and it allows you to play a track of some guy talking japanese. I also tried editing the bin and cue files so that the filename would contain no spaces.

The game runs on the latest version of Yabuse but only gets to the Konami logo and goes no further. Any ideas how to get this working? Other games work on SSF.

I've seen youtube videos of people running this game on SSF so I know it is compatible.

skip Yabuse it's not a fast emu

the game does work in SSF but the image has 2 errors in it at sectors 150 and 151 (I can tell you that these are created by someone changing the region of the game) you can fix those with CDMage

ok now you repaired it.. now in mount the CD image with Daemon tools or whatever you mount your games with

start up SSF and it works

the Area Code should be set to Japan, the actual bios file can be any region though

Thanks, it took a couple tries to get all the things right, and then i remembered to change back the area code. I'm glad I can finally play the game. I can't believe 2 seperate downloads would have the same mistake.

How do you fix "sectors 150 and 151"? It's disappointing that there are replies inside this forum as IF it's helpful. NOTHING is said here other than to remember to fix stuff and change an area code for an emulator. HOW DO YOU FIX THE DISK!? You can't say "here's a program, you need to use this to fix the game" but NOT SAY HOW.

I know I probably sound pissed, but how hard is it to get a working copy of Castlevania for Saturn? (Remember back to when you first wanted to play Castlevania on Saturn with all the cool features..... remember what you went through to finally play it. Now you know what I feel)

I clicked a link saying this thread would help fix a downloaded bin/cue form of Castlevania for Saturn and instead everyone here barely says hello. Please explain WHAT CDMage is and how I need to use it to make Castlevania fixed. PLEASE.

Hey Zorlon, I saw that CDMage was in BOLD but nothing said it was a link to instructions. I gotta say thanks for putting that there but in my defense this forum has LOTS of white words in BOLD that aren't links.

But, I misunderstood and made a mistake, I am going to leave my posts here unedited as evidence that I can face up to it. THANKS for everything Zorlon.

Thanks again Zorlon! I've seen that you are generally helpful to everyone at these forums. On behalf of everybody who has benefited from your knowledge or work: Thank you.

Also, my wife brought up that you could be the same Zorlon who made the "Zorlon's PSX MODS!" Well, although I'm sure it's obvious, I haven't really confirmed that. For all I know there's just a weird coincidence with you guys having the same online name lol. Though I'm sure you are.

This gives me a chance to also say thanks for the many other things I found out that Zorlon has contributed to mine, and the lives of many other gamers. I've downloaded stuff uploaded by you over and over. We never met but I've read your name as author over some pretty awesome downloads.

So if your the same Zorlon:
-Thanks for the forum help with the Saturn disk thing
-Thanks for all the help you've given around the forums in general
-Thanks for all your awesome downloads
-And thanks for anything else great you hand out to us. I hope everyone appreciates and notices it's you by just seeing the name as well. You deserve the credit.

Would there be anyone here I could ask who would know about how to properly get ISO's working on the Saturn emulator Yabause for Wii or PSP?

I got passed many obstacles and even had to fix the disk like the example here. But in the end on PSP, it stops at the "SEGA" screen, and on Wii it plays the sound but hangs at the emulators title screen (visually.) I know both of these platform's version of Yabause have different areas online to discuss it already, but these are the 2 versions people give out help the LEAST with. This is the only place I know to ask anymore.

But if no one can help me get the Yabause emu working on either Wii or PSP, if you find any helpful links let me know. My wife and I found a lot on it, that's how we got it working as well as we did. But we can't find anymore faqs or anything online to help. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Yabause wouldn't play anything correctly anyway it has major issues as isn't at a playable state.

You can try the PC based one out first if you still want help with it though I will look into it more for you.

Create a new thread though, the only good saturn emu on any system is SSF and there is an older one called GiriGiri also known as Cassini (Cassini did not offer anything new to the emu)

Cool idea about starting the new thread Zorlon. I'll get right on it, but I'm not sure how to navigate the forums entirely. It might take me a bit to find the right place. After I make the new thread is it alright if I PM you its URL or will you already be able to find it??? lol
