Default VBA still can't run right.

I made a post about this a while back... but the advice didn't help. Visualboy Advance still will not emulate a GBA at full speed, which is odd considering I can do such with an N64. VERY weird.

I've tried several builds of the thing and each has been slower than the last o.0
Are there other GBA emulators that are any good?

Please include your vba.ini located in your visualboyadvance folder too, like you probably did the other time. :\
You'll need to zip it first if you want to attach it here btw, because .ini isn't an accepted filetype.

I have never heard of anyone having problems running a gameboy emulator at full speed. Maybe he downloaded a virus instead lol. If you can play computer games like Halo, Unreal, or any of the new games then some little VBA emulator should give you no problems. Just delete VBA folder, get a new one, scan your computer for registry problems/viruses/trojans/spyware/adware/vulnerabilities/etc.

I agree. Specs first, assistance second.
    Greatly enjoyed Monster Hunter
    Happily playing Guild Wars
Sorely disappointed with Star Ocean 3

    Uh... I can't play Halo 1. o.0

It's my piddling 16 MB Graphics card. Everything else is above Halo's required specs.
    800 Mhz Pentium 3
    128 MB Ram
    IBM Netvista
Why i need a more buffed program to play a Gameboy Advance than to play an N64 game for god's sake i have NO idea.

Is VBA programmed to be inefficent or something? o.0

Edit: I took AC's advice, and reinstalled VBA. Games will run at full speed if I skip every other frame without any window expansion, but i dont want to skip frames. I'll work on it.

I have alot of difficulty to even imagine Nintendo 64 running at 25 fps on your system. Not that you're lying or anything, but yeah i'd give money to see that seeing you have a 16mb video card.

Also when you say everything else is above halo required spec, required is the keyword, recommended is not.
I know GBA emulation takes kinda alot of ressources, it runs ok on my P4 1.5Ghz, 512mb PC-133, 32mb Nvidia TNT2, fullscreen 640x480 with TV effect and frameskipping at 1 and sound at 22khz. It lags a bit if i put frameskip at 0, so yeah, you get the point.

I know it's suprising, but the average N64 game seems to run well at full framerate or nearly full framerate with a 640 by 480 window. BUT I have to do a considerable amount of plugin juggling(switch between versions 1.5 and 1.6 of Jabo's gfx plugin).

Not sure if it'll help but make sure you have the lastest directx installed.

You could try completely removing it from your pc then reinstalling it, I had FPS problems but then it worked fine when I reinstalled it. If it still doesnt work then its got to be your computer specs that are the problem

Is the latest DirectX version 9.0?

I forgot to mention that Megaman Battle Network is quite graphically loaded for a GBA game, with a simpler title like Aria of Sorrow, I can run at full framerate in a 1x window.

    The latest DirectX is 9.0c.
If you need it, you can get it from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dir...ds/default.htm

Have you tried any of the alternate builds of VBA, to see if they run better on your comp?
Some of them have supposedly been better optimized than the official build of VBA, so they might be worth a look.

These are the 4 that I know about:

    VBA smooth

    Spacy's "inofficial" VBA build
