Nah, ever since those darned tenns have aids and don't know it commercials I've been a little uneasy. Also, I think it's just another form of prevention, not a full fledged cure.

No idea. I get my avs and sigs by searching in crappy non-well known search engines with words like "Freaky" And "yodaman".

Um, I thought there was a cure for HIV already, that is, if you're rich enough to pay for it. Didn't Magic Johnson get cured? I mean, I just saw him on Jay Leno recently and he looked extremely healthy, and also looked like he has gained some weight.

Well money is how he is able to stay healthy and the fact that he was in really good shape when he contracted it.

But AK602 is different because it reacts to human cells instead of attacking the virus, Mitsuya said.

He said the drug sticks to a protein called CCR5 that acts as an entrance into human cells for the AIDS virus. When the new drug becomes attached to the protein, it can prevent HIV from entering, and thus stop the virus from spreading.
Well...now that I'm reading it...can we really call it a cure? It says it keeps the virus from spreading. It doesn't attack the virus just protects the cells. Plus, you wont show symptoms of HIV for a while after receiving the virus. So by the time you find out you have it, it's already spread so much, that using this drug most likely may help a tiny bit. All the steps of the overrinding process (when the HIV takes over the cell) takes about a couple of minutes. By the time you realize you have HIV, millions and millions of cells are already infected with the virus.

And that's not the only problem. I've heard lots of scientist say that the real problem ain't making a cure for HIV/AIDS but distributing it. How the hell are you suppose to get this out to all the hundreds of thousands HIV stuck kids in Africa? Give it to them for free? Sorry, but that is not the way the world works. I'm not trying to be a spoilsport but i'll give it some more time before getting all worked up about it. But let's hope it turns out to be a true.

This is great news. But I'm worried that this medicine won't last long, since HIV/AIDS is a disease that mutates for adaption, so it could mutate in a way to bypass this protection. Let's hope this doesn't happen soon.

BTW, the Japanese did it again! Those crazy Japs
