    Default Broken File Help...

OKay, I know, I've been a bit of a pain lately, but I'm SO CLOSE! I've finnaly configured espxe properly... aldebaran is my new god. And, I'm now trying to extract FF7. It get's to 17 percent, and then it stops and says the file is broken... And help would be much appreciated! And then, I swear, I won't need anymore help!

You could try extracting with 7zip. It will write the file even though there are crc errors. I've been told this can cause the game to malfunction because it might be missing data, But I've never had a problem that I can notice in doing this. (I get crc errors on every iso i extract)

Hrm... The thing is, I'm pretty sure that's what I was using... Hrm. Maybe I was using WinZip... Lemme uninstall that and try again...

If you got FF7 from emuparadise, are you sure all of the parts are complete? There should be a few 50mb parts (i think) and the last one should be a bit smaller.

Be sure you have all the parts and if one is buggy (not correct size) simply download it again.

Er... Well... Is this right? 8 are 50 MB, one is 49.9 MB, and part10 is 36.9 MB.... OS that right?

The one with 49.9 MB, is it the first file? If not, that part is likely the corrupt one.

    The last one is fine.
Like GodJonez said, if the 49.9mb isn't the first file, then it's corrupted.

It could still be corrupt. It is just that the first file is special because it contains the file table and other archive information so it could be of different size. You'd still better try to re-download it again.

Actually, I just tried to extract it with WinRAR, and it said that it needs the following volume:... IN short, part 2. So, I'm currently re-downloading this one. I'll give an update on whether or not it works...

Is the first file an executable one?
If not then it's almost sure it's corrupt. And which cd is it?

If it's first cd, then i'm sure it works (i uploaded it), but i don't remember the first file being an exe.
If it's the second cd, then there might be a problem because i uploaded FF7 CD2 not really long ago and MasJ swapped the files.
You might have grabbed the first parts of the cd before he changed the whole of them, so you're trying to extract first parts then "my parts" so it gets buggy.

MasJ changed the files so that there shouldn't be any self-extract archives anymore.

Er... I dunno if it's an executable. How do I go about checking that? Also, it's Disk 1.

When you double click the file, if it starts WinRAR or 7-zip, it is not executable, if it opens an extract window instead of file browser, it is self-extracting executable.
