maybe there are different models... hmm gotta check in on that... but what ZeikHunter had pointed out is exactly what i have seen with the slim lines. I'll ask around at my gamestop to see how many have actually been returned in respect to how many sold. Hell it might just be CERTAIN slim lines.... then again 12 hours straight is a pretty long time

    Yes it is...

Anyway, who know's how long it takes to fry your PStwo it could be as little as 4 hours or it could take as long as 24... I for one don't want to find out.

    Even then it is...

    208min + 208min + 250min = 666 min (im not making this stuff up)
    666 min/60min = 11.1 hours...

No the times are as listed, Amazon would not lie.. the first two extended are about 3 hours and 46 min the third extended is 4 hours and 16 min. Together not quite 12 hours...

But i digress, it does not matter because it would still fry your PStwo, who would use the pstwo as a dvd player anyway, they dvd playback is sub par.

Nah, not really. DVD playback on the latest models is great. Not as full-featured as that of a stand alone DVD player, but definitely as competant as that of the XBox. It's definitely not sub-par, at any rate....

oh i guess it's because i have an old moddel... an very old model that i have a bad impression of the DVD playback ability...

Yeah, probably. The playback in the older models wasn't all that great. At the time it was adequate, but it doesn't quite cut it these days.

I've had my PStwo since christmas - I bought it in walmart the week before. I just left it on for almost 48 hours and its still fine. I was paused in the middle of a game.. I haven't fixed it up for swap magic yet but im sure it'll be just as good.

thanks for bringing up the flaw. i thought it was only very early ps2s and the pstwo that had problems...
also just out of curiosity, why would u choose a swap-type mod rather than one that can read backups/imports without swapping?

Easy to do, soldering on the PS2 is tough.

good point. tho i believe some swap chips also require soldering.

do u mean soldering in general is tough? or just tougher with a ps2 for some reason?
