Is there any way to play PS1 games that have been burned to a CD-R without modchipping it or doing the "disc swap" trick? I've tried to find other methods but I've found nothing. If someone can help me out, I'd be very grateful.

There is not. Even the commercial action replay is a disc swapping method.
If you are familiar with PIC programming, you can make your own modchip. This is the easiest and cheapest next to disc swapping.
Alright, I checked out some modchips but I found that there are many varieties and I'm not sure which one to get.
Is there a good guide on burning ISO files to play on un modded PSX? (SCPH-7501) and as a bonus an actual helpful guide to performing the disc swap?
