Getting 360 for Xmas

Mass Effect is really good, but not that much of an RPG. You might like Fallout 3 if you're into that sorta thing. Mirrors Edge is a top notch game in my opinion, I've tossed countless hours into it. I also heard BorderLands is really fun, but I've yet to play it.

Fable 2 is a pretty entertaining RPG, and leaps and bounds better than the first one. I also found [Prototype] to be very fun, although it is available on the PS3 as well.

As for RPGs there is also Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which I believe is also being ported to the ps3 with some added items and playable characters and stuff, so you might just wanna wait on that one.

F.E.A.R 2 (official sequel to the first game, very nice graphics and fun game play, albeit much easier)
I'd also like to second Fallout 3 and Mass Effect, as they are both very fun RPG games merged with FPS, and it works rather well, and I would also like to recommend Oblivion if you haven't played that already...

And Braid from XBLA is an amazing game if you haven't played it on PC yet, do it!

Don't miss out on Mass effect. It has some issues, but it's great. Not to mention the second will be out in a few months and will be x2 as good, AND your save file from the first transfers over to carry on the decisions you made.

forza motorsport 3 is indeed a very nice racing simulator, bro got it and i had chance to play it, was alot of fun. one of the best features in a game ive seen in a while is a custom paint job thing thats pretty much limitless, doesnt look it at first but man, in the first few days it was out i saw on the online auction thing, a vegeta (dragon ball Z ) themed car, some anime themed car (fucking insane anime character on the bonet(spelling?) ) a detailed UK police range rover and car. and of course some of the cars from the fast and furious movie series. The cars you sell on the auction can be used for single player mode, so those who have made an insane paint job get a lovely income.

and CoD modern warfare 2 comming out tuesday if your a fan of fps it's pretty much hyped x999999 atm.

oh and FFXIV (or was it 15...) anyway Xbox will have the new final fantasy on it when it comes out april ish next year, if your unfamiliar with FF, i highly reccomend you at least try it or get one of the older ones on this site.
