Oh GOD! This one is hard... I have different nostalgic games for different "era's" of my life really...

There was Super Mario Bros and Sonic the Hedgehog before i actually owned anything physically.. those are prolly the EARLIEST games I can remember, besides LttP, but I was too young to play it, My father did when he had ankle surgery, I was prolly 2-4 for that, and a bit older when I visted my cousins. When I got my first system, a Genesis, The Sega Channel all together was Nostalgic. Then I got an N64 and a bit later a Playstation. Star Fox, Turok, Super Mario 64, Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Zelda: OoT and Blasto are all equally Nostalgic around this time along with Pokemon Red, Blue then. A bit later in these consoles life cycle Pokemon Yellow, Silver, Paper Mario and maybe even Hydro Thunder. I did enjoy Final Fantasy 7 later as my first hardcore JRPG, Paper Mario just doesn't quite count. I did play FF7 earlier on my uncles PS1, waaay before I owned one, but I was just a tad too young to realize what I was doing on a grand scale.

If you don't wanna read the whole post and just want a quick "list"

    Link to the Past
Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedgehog
    The Sega Channel
Star Fox, Turok Super Mario 64, Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot Zelda: OoT Blasto, Pokemon, Red & Blue
Pokemon Yellow, Silver, Paper Mario, Hydro Thunder
    Final Fantasy 7

I realize this is A LOT longer then most other's posts... but Nostalgia for me just can't be contained with just 2 or 3 games, it spans whole Console life cycles... It's not a perfect way to separate the hardcore gaming nerd's, but it is a start. I can't even do the same wit "favorites" like Favorite RPG, or Movie, Band... I have WAY too many interests.

a toss up between Mortal Kombat II for the sega megadrive - first console game with the classic plastic box and cartridge I ever got... something a little magic about it... that or skate or die 2 for the nes... why? - because that was the first game i got and subsequently "discovered" you can emulate old consoles!? wha!? mind blown..

Just about any Mario or Zelda game... NES, SNES or N64. Good times.

However, I get really strong feelings of nostalgia from "Space Quarks" on the Apple //c. The first video game I ever played! I was 3 years old, and my mother was a news reporter. She bought the Apple for writing, but "Quarks" was on one of the pack in disks, "The Apple at Play". I'm amazed nobody has done a port of it to another console. It was really fun and super-addictive.

There are so many nostalgic games for me to list, but I'll narrow it down to a few.

    • Final Fantasy VII
    • Xenogears
