Even the programs meant to prevent viruses fuck it up

Malwarebytes anti malware for sure. That shit is the only effective software i could fine to remove certain hard ass viruses from most systems, even some faggy mbr viruses which wouldn't let boot up your system at all...

    Oh, for fuck's sake...

If you two start only TWO POSTS into this thread about "Linux so awesome!" "No, Linux sucks!" then I'm going to be very upset.
DON'T MAKE ME GET YOUR MOTHERS.

... seriously, guys. We have enough retarded flame wars as it is. This is a thread for anti-virus software recommendations -- if you are running Linux and don't need it, then stay out of the thread. And if you feel like making asinine comments about the wealth of Linux users, then also stay out of this thread.

    NOW GO CLEAN YOUR ROOMS!
Sorry if it seemed like I hate linux and was being a ass Drageuth, I just meant nothing is absolute

did not mean to seem like a ass, Sorry about that.

Oh, and I use AVG. Just to contribute... like it has been said, it's the best freeware anti-virus program I've been able to find. Although I haven't had a problem with viruses in years.

oh man, glad i never got one of those

my Dad recently somehow got a Sality Virus on his PC (my educated guess that is what it was)

the kind that Patches any EXE you try to execute, and makes it impossible to do anything.

back in the day (even before windows 98) i remember there was a virus that could make your monitor explode (not really explode like there was a bomb inside it, but fuck it up for good) along with your video card by incrementing the voltage output in your bios settings

Some more important info, Seems even if you do not visit any dangerous sites or whatnot you can still get a infection, why its best to have Comodo free Firewall and PeerBlock regardless of Antivirus preference.

For Anti-virus programs, I use both Avast Free and MBAM Free... used Avira in the past but it wasn't that good (changed it when they f*cked up with the service pack)

As for Firewall, my Windows + Router Firewall is enough for me... since most of these Personal Firewalls are considered at pretty worthless on most anti-malware sites I were...

But in the end, best way to stay safe from viruses and stuff is too keep every program updated and use Brain.exe

Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!

I use NOD32. No other AV, and just Windows Defender as my firewall. No problems.

NOD32 has a free trial at ESET's website, if you wish to test it.

Obviously, Ema Skye is hawt. And kickass.

I never really seen the need for a firewall.
