I have an external 100GB Hard disk that I hardly ever use. 800GB of internal that's nearly full :O
That's true. Though, how often does that kind of situation come up?
Hm. The external sounds nice now. Just use it for media stuff.
Wow, that's gotta be false.
60MB/s. Still not that bad, though. And, like you said, it's convenient if you have to move data around.USB 2.0 has a raw data rate at 480Mbps, and it is rated 40 times faster than its predecessor interface, USB 1.1, which tops at 12Mbps.
If you can flush an HDD, make sure you never fall in.
Rated at 480Mbps anyways, you aren't going to hit that.
false.
you mean 480 Mb/s (yes theres a difference)
a BIT (b) is equal to 1 digit
a BYTE (B) is equal to 8 digits
so the theoretical 480 Mb/s that you're talking about it really:
480/8=~60 MB/s
sata 2.0= ~300 MB/s
IDE = up to ~133 MB/s
so technically usb, theoretically of course, is the slowest of those 3
Finally back on Vista after my short-lived XPeriment.
C'mon. I know what a bit and a byte is. I mistyped a capital B.
I have a hard drive enclosure making my 300gb hard drive external, bad idea I end up putting it on rathering than having it permanently installed.
