Default Fast speed VBA, minimum overheating on laptop?

Well... I'm playing pokemon leaf green right now, with no throttle and frameskip 9 I'm getting a nice speed of 500% which is as fast as I can get it to go and I like this speed quite nicely for everything except for using the town map.

BUT my laptop gets pretty hot and so I get worried.
So I force myself to not play any longer than 30-60 minutes at a time...

I wonder if there are any tips that will allow me to maintain my high playing speed whilst cooling down my laptop.
I don't mind sacrificing graphics if that will help?

(sorry if this is the wrong forum! I'm pretty sure I got it right this time though)

I do know all about how your supposed to turn off background processes... but I don't think I have any to turn off
Since a while ago, i started using a different start up thingy, now there is less than half the processes that I used to see... yes, literally less than half!
So I think all the things in alt ctrl del are necessary system things.

Dont put your laptop on your lap, or bed, or anything. Put it on a desk. They are meant to get hot, I almost guarantee its well within normal operation, unless its getting to the point where you practically burn yourself if you touch it after being on a desk.

Youd be surprised whats normal for a laptop, well, technically a notebook since they stopped using that phrasing because the heat cant be good for the ole unit downstairs.

they're meant to get hot, all computers do, it's unavoidable. hell, i don't need the furnace on for most of winter because my machine heats my room on it's own!

The model number and manufacturer. You've told us the manufacturer but no model number. That way we can look up specs and see just what that notebook has in it and why VBA isn't running well for you.

...oh wait this is a heating issue that's right. I've run F.E.A.R. on my laptop for hours and the left side where the cooling fans are (yes there are 2 of them and 2 mercury cooling rods as well) gets so hot I can't even touch the keyboard without nearly burning myself but my laptop still runs at full speeds even with the extreme heat. It's amazing what a notebook can handle without completely crashing.

Yes, it is a heating problem. ^^ um...
Although you don't need it, if you still want it you'll have to tell me how to find the model number.

Before I thought you were exaggerating when you said so hot it burns you.
Mine just gets hot where the cooling fan is on the right. ^^
I don't let it get very hot. I guess, I'll just have to be less of a wimp...
