So I downloaded the Super Mario World emulator on this site. When it was finished, it was an sfc file. How do I convert it to make it possible to play, or even to open?

you don't need to convert it, .sfc is already a format that emulators will recognize.
Right, you need an emulator to run your ROM. An emulator is an .exe file, the .sfc file you have is a ROM image. SFC stands for Super FamiCom, the Japanese name for the SNES.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
As others have said, you'll need an emulator to play the game. I would recommend using snes9x, which you can download here. Extract the zip file, run the snes9x.exe file, then once the program comes up go to File > Open, navigate to the SFC file and double-click it to get the game going. Alternatively you can just drag and drop your downloaded rom files directly onto the snes9x.exe file to open them that way. Also the roms can usually be left as .zip files, so no need to extract them first.

"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

look at the above address for emulators
BSNES is an emulator aimed at accuracy (it does not use hacks ect to get speed boosts and accuracy does not = higher compatibility) but as a downside it is also one of the slowest
Snes9x and ZSNES are both very compatible emulators and play most games perfect (they both use various hacks ect to get the games playing at perfect speed) there is the odd game the plays in one better than the other but that goes both ways
I don't know enough about the other emulators listed there to give any other comments
