From the bit of research I just did for that laptop it sounds like both can be upgraded, but that it isn't necessarily worth it cost wise to do the CPU. I did find a guide on upgrading the GPU which you can find here. As far as the ram goes, unless you're trying to do a bunch of multitasking while gaming, you'll probably be fine with the 8gb it comes with.

The easiest (installation wise) way to get more performance overall would probably be to replace the internal HDD with an SSD, though those can get a little pricey depending on how much space you need: I'm finding 512gb ones for ~$200. If you're able to install one as a second drive (couldn't find any info on that) you could get a smaller one and just run your games & windows off of it for the performance boost.
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

What price range are you looking at?

I've been looking at the Asus when I was on the market, recommend you some models here http://gaminglaptopunder1000.org/gam...ps-under-1000/
