You need to extract the disc image from the compressed archive which in this case is the RAR.

And are we talking Playstation FF7 or Crisis Core?

Because you can not run playstation games through PPSSPP, you will need Retroarch for that.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

if you have the PSX Final Fantasy 7 you can not run it in PPSSPP , you need a PSX emulator for android and the best method for running that is Retroarch.

I suggest heading over to the Retroarch forums/wiki and get acquainted with it since its not quite "noob friendly"

Its great for advanced users but not noobs since it seems a bit overwhelming at first.

It's an original Playstation game not a Playstation Portable game that's the problem. It probably would be easier to just use EPSXE for Android to play. There is virtually nothing to setup and works perfectly fine. Went through the whole game myself with that on Android a year ago and had no problems.

Hrrrm. No free version?? Maybe they changed things in the last couple of years

You could also try Fpse or psx4droid I believe they were free as well and work fine with FF7

Please, Lazytophat, don't create more threads on the same subject, stick to this one.

Read the pinned threads in Everything Emulation/Console, the answer to the most common questions is there.

You need to extract the rar files to get the image file of the game. If you are using an Android device, look for any app that lets you do that.

I'm moving this thread to the right area of the forums.

PPSSPP emulator is really the only way to go. There is a free version you can get straight from there site or the play store. Just keep in mind the requirements are higher so if you're using an older Android phone for example it may not run at a decent speed. What device do you have???

You need to decompress the file. There is a version of winrar for Android you could try and the one I use the most is ZArchiver which runs fantastic with most compression types. Both should be on the store and free as well.
