Default Online multiplayer gaming for SNES/Genesis/Gameboy/anything else emulators

I'd put it in the General thread, but since it is limited to emulation. I would like to know what online multiplayer sites that I can play ROMs on.

For example, how can I go online to play Pokemon with others?

    Thanks.

Sites not really but plenty of emulators support Netplay

    GameBoy
[This is different as you are emulating 2 systems linking not just player 2 on on one console and roms run independently rather than trying to sync the same game/rom]

GBA-M that is mostly a GBA emu but does support GameBoy (I don't realy use that one so don't remember the exact options)
TGB Dual has it's own built in Netplay under File -> Netplay

    Super Nintendo

ZSNES has it's own built in Multiplaying over the net options under NETPLAY
SNES9X also has it's own options also under Netplay

    Megadrive/Genesis

Gens via Kaillera File -> Netplay
    Kega Fusion File -> Netplay

http://www.kaillera.com/download.php has a list of emulators officially supporting that method of Netplay but there are a bunch that support this method that are unofficially built to do so usualy named the same as the emulators with a K- either at the start of the emu name or noted at the end

e.g. PJ64k is an unofficial Kaillera enabled emulator

http://www.kaillera.com/forums/viewt...hp?f=11&t=5474 has a few more listed

There are more emulators with Netplay support though

Even some of the consoles like PSP, PS2 and Xbox have Netplay support via games that support LAN (or local Network play like Ad-hoc (PSP)) if done correctly with certain software on a PC, super great for the Xbox as online play is no longer an option as Xbox Live for the original Xbox is just a thing of the past and no hacks to bypass that yet if ever

If you wish to play Arcade games online that can be done easily .

The current top online multiplayer arcade client is Fightcade, nice selection of games since it uses Final Burn Alpha as its emulator.

If you are interested in that tell me and il send you the stuff to get started, Its very easy to set up, no authorization emails and all that baloney, no installation too which is a big plus.

High chance you wont need to port forward either.

I think RobertX is actually after Web based emulators as in Java type that run on a web page, problem is last time I looked they were hardly worth using never mind adding other features like multiplayer over the net

No, Zorlon, not interested in Java-based. I want human multiplayer games.

    Thanks.

I can help you out later tomorrow but for now here is the best version of ZSNES for netplay,

    zsnesw142n.zip
    zsnesw142n-src.7z

Both the binary and source since I dont like to share anything incomplete

Its pretty straightforward but if you need help getting set up il help you tomorrow.

    why so bummed then???

this kind of confused me and that you said online multiplayer sites in your first post

P.S. I'm not talking about using bots or any other none human player multi player support, everything I have mentioned is for 2 or more human players over the internet

Sorry Zorlon, I don't want to troll.

I'll do more research before I ask.

I don't see how you are being a troll, seems you are just having a hard time describing what you want.

Was that ZSNES one of the things you wanted?

I'm just seeing how things are in the online multiplayer end of console emulation.

I want to play Pokemon Red online with other players through a Gameboy emulator.

    Thanks.

    GBA link emulation is kinda.................laggy.

Pokemon is only for trading so it should not matter for those games so much

TGB Dual is the emulator to use for the original GameBoy/Super GameBoy/GameBoy Color - Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow

But if needs be just share saves and do the trading on a single machine instead, the same emu's can be used that way for GBA (VBA-M) and GB to GBC (TGB Dual)
