    Default Gamecube and PS3 COntroller

I am beginning to think that the PS3 isn't the greatest PC game controller to use. I am trying to setup my PS3 controller to work with Gamecube...And the L3 and R3 are not able to be configured. Has anyone else used this to play Gamecube or should I just buy a cheap gamepad?

    Thanks

The best gamepad's that I have found are the ones for xbox 360 and now the xbox one to play anything that needs a controller. I have no experience with any xbox one controllers on PC, but I know the 360 ones work well whether they are official xbox or not. I personally have a rock candy one for my PC.

In retrospect, I have never gotten a PS3 controller to work on my PC no matter what I have tried.

I can't agree with the above at all due to the lower triggers acting as a single slider rather than independently so can't be used at the same time, though there may be fixes for that now, still I have a USB 360 pad as well as a handful of wireless ones, but would have no interest in using them with my PC unless I got a PC game I guess that was preconfigured for it

360 pads do have a closer layout though to GC pads with the DPad and Left stick in a similar position

Anyway if you have an old PS2 or even PSX pad you can get very very cheap converters for those to USB and never had an issue with those with any emulator

They are listed in a few ways at ebay/amazon PS2 to PS3 control pad converters PSX/PS2 to USB pad converters and various other ways both work and both are to USB

Don't buy a cheap pad though, waste of money and never work as well as they should do either because of poorly done buttons or grip design even PSX/PS2/PS3 clone pads never feel right mostly due to the buttons though as some do look and feel just like a real one until you try to actually use it

A third party driver is required for the rumble feature though otherwise they are plug and play detecting as a simple HID controller device so no silly drivers required apart from rumble that is optional anyway

P.S. why would you want to config L3 and R3 to Gamecube that does not have those, the sticks on a GC pad are not clickable like PSX analog pads and up over, they also only have three back triggers two lower triggers and one upper trigger on the right so converting from a GC pad to a PS pad you only get L2 R2 R1 X Square Triangle and Circle Dpad-up/down/left/right Left stick-up/down/left/right Right stick-up/down/left/right and Start (Select L1 L3 and R3 don't match up to any GC pad buttons)
