Default Nintendo rolling out some new all encompassing account system this fall

This was probably the reason Club Nintendo was axed. There's no word on how Nintendo Network IDs will be tied in. But I expect as usual for Nintendo it'll be terrible, and they'll accidentally discard all users digital librarys (that'd explain why they never did anything to the people that robbed their entire Club Nintendo digital catalog...).

This seems like a waste of resources and it's almost guaranteed to blow up in their faces.

So DeNA might make games using N's IP's?

Is this Nintendo's move to smart devices?

Discounts for games was mentioned but don't we get that aleady with Eshop Sales?

Imagine if the first game they made was Flappy Mario or somethin XD.

I dunno about this guys we'll see.

Btw in other news Big N revealed new console I believe it was called NX or somethin
Layin down enjoying the fun unleashing the power of the sun and capturing them all until I'm done.

Not might, is. That was also huge news yesterday, Nintendo's stock price jumped up 30% because of that announcement.

Haven't cared for anything Nintendo since the GBA and Gamecube days, even then you had to have a PS2 or Xbox to play all the stuff Nintendo consoles didn't get.

Don't see any appeal to anything Nintendo now. They're always lightyears behind.

Nintendo IPs have become so boring and stale to me that I cannot bring myself to care.

I don't really mind that Nintendo is getting into the mobile business. They're already lagging in sales everywhere. I have a 3DS, and there are some 3DS games I wanna play that I haven't got around to. I also plan on getting a Wii-U eventually as I still like Nintendo first party games. I still enjoy their first party games, though I have to admit, they aren't as great as they used to, but they're not horrible.

I also don't think it is a good that Nintendo is making another console. I mean they're already in the hole, making another console probably won't be good for them. The NX will probably be behind Sony's and Microsoft's next game console when they are released. I've also been reading from a few sources that these generation of console gaming could be the last, but who knows. I still enjoy playing console games, you're not gonna find those console exlcusives on PC. Anyways, I hope Nintendo can make a comeback, I mean they did help revive the game industry after the game crash.

Given how consoles are merging once again with PCs, what with hard drives, installs, download only titles, patches and being slightly weak for mid range PC hardware, I'm pretty sure a lot of those exclusives can easily find themselves on PC only.

I mean, games are made on PCs anyway, so you just skip the steps needed to port them to consoles.

A lot of PS3 games have been getting PC ports recently, so who knows.

I like to think that the Fire Emblem series alone makes Nintendo the best company that has ever existed - not counting Earwax Records.

Save from the wii SMB games - that I honestly love - I don't get why they bother with any non-Fire Emblem games though. Madness, I tell you.

Meh, Fire Emblem started to go down hill when they started putting games on handhelds.

Whilst I do miss the implied incest in the royal families portrayed in some of the older titles I see no other option than to go all "hmph!" here. FEVII is a masterpiece and X-XI redefined the series.

So, uh, how about that new account system, eh?

It's less to do with that and more to do with the GBA games removing game mechanics they shouldn't have while 7 and 8 went the super easy route. The FE1 and 3 remakes didn't do anything amazing outside of reclass, which I never found useful while making a unit isn't something I care about.

But anyway, I'm sure they'll mess it all up. Nintendo never does anything right when it comes to online.

Who the hell wants achievements when we can have shiny trophies?
