We get three seasons in DFW. We get Winter, Summer, and "slightly less Summer" in all the spaces in between. Of course, our winter is late kicking in, as Corey mentioned. February's the coldest month usually, though it's not all that predictable. And of course, you'll have drastic weather changes over the course of a day/week. On 11/30, it was 85º. On 12/3, it was 35º. On 12/4, it was 75º. We actually got a little bit of that white stuff pretty early this year, it just didn't stick at all.
To be honest, that's the way you would want it as an adult. You get to take the kids out and say AMG LOOK SNOW, but you don't have to deal with any of the problems that come with it. Buffalo, NY had it pretty damn bad this year. People had to go out and shovel off their roofs, because the sheer weight of the snow they got was enough to cause some to cave in. I'd take a 60º Christmas over that any day.
Regardless of weather, though, you can't beat the cost of living here. What buys you a 2 story 4 bedroom with 2500 square feet here would get you a 2 bedroom 800 square foot duplex in New England, and then you'd be paying state income tax and higher sales tax on top of that. Not to mention gas prices. It's $1.89 a gallon in my neighborhood. It's actually a little humorous because you see everyone pulling out that Ford F150 or hog they've had in the garage for the past few months because it was a waste of money to drive it.
