Default [Request] Odd fan translation of GBC Pokemon Silver

A long time ago (2006) I bought a Pokemon Silver from Malaysia. It's in English, but it's pretty weird. I don't remember much, but I remember that the POKEMON in the main menu is written as a stylized PkMn (with the k and n above the P and M) and Pokemon names/attacks shortened to 5/6/7 letters (CYNDA, HOOTH, QATTACK, MG.EMBER) and the location names are translated straight from their Japanese names (Goldenrod City is Kogane City, etc). This might mean that it was an early fan translation of Pokemon Silver when it was out in Japan but not yet in the US (but I seem to remember that the title screen was entirely in English). Can anyone pinpoint which translation this was, preferably with links and stuff?

PS: I also remember a weird scene when you first enter Olivine. The rival said he wanted to find a toilet so he ran off.
