Default Earthbound Zero repro intro screen fuzziness

I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem with their repro carts:

I've made a bunch of carts, but for some reason, Earthbound Zero's two intro screens before the title screen have 'cross-hatch' fuzziness in the words. When I play it in my emulator, it works just fine, but I've burned 2 EPROMs into two different donors and have the exact same problem on real hardware. Everything from the title screen on plays just fine with no errors or graphical glitches. I'll try to get a picture on here, but my iPhone's camera decided to stop working after the latest update, grrr.

The original rom was never released (as in there was no release for retail sale outside of Japan) and was hacked up to be playable via emulation, so this may be a result from the rom being hacked up to be playable via emulation and has left a side effect for flashing it over

No idea though why it would do that but I guess if the game itself works it's not that much of an issue.

Sounds like the CHR IC. Is it ROM or RAM? If RAM, then I would suspect your PRG ROM may need re-burned. Otherwise, reburn the CHR.

It's definitely very possible that this is due to the rom being hacked up. Jazz, I have to burn both PRG and CHR for this game, so the CHR is ROM type. All in all, not too major of an issue, just one of those little nuisances that drive an OCD person like me crazy

Oops, sorry for editing your post. Reply is next to edit for me.

In that case I would suggest reburning your CHR. There may have been some corruption of the sprites and since you said your emulator works just fine with the same ROM image(s). Alternatively, you may have a short or two on the data traces which corrupts the data that the NES receives, but since you said it is just on the logo and no where else, that may not be the case.
