Serious question, does anybody know of any good database software or database software that is regularly used?

    You looking to learn?

    http://alison.com/courses/Introducti...QL-Programming
    http://www.w3schools.com/sql/

When I did SQL back in the old days I used this program called Oracle although I suspect there is better software out there. Oracle was a pain to use and you had to program it correctly line for line which made for very awkward times if you got something wrong.

No, I just need to know how to use some database software, the most popular anyway, for entering large amounts of data into, I thought that didn't require programming knowledge?

Microsoft Access is probably the simplest one to use for a basic database.

What Cosmic said. access should be able to do large amounts of data. As long as you don't want to do anything really complex then access should be plenty.

I don't know if it's the most popular, but it's definitely up there. It gets taught in schools/colleges a lot since it's one of the easier ones to pick up. You can't really go wrong with it for simple projects.

Not to discourage you from posting here but it's probably best to keep details of your life and what you're doing with your time to yourself. Not having a dig at you, just trying to give you some general advice. A public forum anyone can read isn't the best place to post this stuff.

I never learned it myself, wish I had, don't even think my college ever thought it but I get the impression databases were generally for CS work.
