We skipped straight from NES to N64 when that came out. Never owned a Sega console either.
Ahhh, makes sense. I was thinking you were my age, but I guess I was wrong. I was like 10 when the SNES came out and I had saved money all summer in order to buy it.

Props for not being a Sega junkie. Beelze can blow me

Is TMNT really that difficult? I was gonna play through it a couple of years ago, and I coasted through the game until I made it to the Technodrome which in when the fucking game froze on me. All you gotta do is a abuse the pizza drops.

Then again, it's probably dumb of me to say things like that since I've never actually played the last "world".

THE TRICK IS TO NEVER DIE. That way you won't lose the spread gun, see.

I never made it past the sewer level but if you can cruise through it that's awesome as hell! I used to own adventures in the magic kingdom.

You should purchase it again! BEST DISNEY RELATED GAME EVAR!

Also, I totally just added Battletoads and Double Dragon. Isn't it, like, easily the most underrated NES game ever? You guys seriously has to play more NES games now! (((

    Michael Ballack, he scores free-kicks.

It's definitely up there, but BT&DD is glitchy as hell. I haven't beaten it, though... I should sit down and give it a shot.

Danny and I tried it a couple times. We got a good way in a few times but never beat it.

Is it? I played it a ton and don't recall experiencing anything that glitchy. Then again, it's sort of a Battletoads game, so maybe I just didn't mind terribly.

TRY AGAIN! The trick is to leave the last lamp(s) before fighting the spiked dude. Oh, and to have a strategy on the last boss. Yeah, with that you cannot fail!!!

The few times I played it wasn't too bad, but I've seen videos where just hilarious shit happens for almost no reason. I think the only ones that I had were things like falling through the floor and really weird hitboxes and enemies not spawning when they should, stuff like that. They were few and far between (I've probably played the game 10-15 times, just never sat down to really beat it), but it's definitely glitchier than most other games I have played from the era.

There are a handful of games I've beaten on the original hardware without the use of the old faithful Game Genie. The following are the ones I remember, there are possibly more:

    Double Dragon II
    Duck Tales
    Faxanadu
    Fester's Quest
    Goonies II
    Legend of Zelda
    Maniac Mansion
    Rescue: The Embassy Mission
    Super Mario Bros
    Super Mario Bros 2
    Super Mario Bros 3
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    Wizards & Warriors

Playing them again recently on an emulator, I have no idea how the hell I managed to beat TMNT and Fester's Quest. I only completed them both once each the proper way, and I'm guessing I fluked it because those games are so damned hard. One I never managed to beat without cheats was Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. I just remember losing all my lives and having to travel the entire fucking map again. That game was one which had me wanting to lob my controller at a wall.

This is the greatest shame ever.

I also don't quite know which NES game to play next which is almost a shame of equal greatness. Perhaps... uh, Trojan! Yeah, makes sense.

    You guys so silly.

Didn't like it much as a kid, but I should give it another chance, I suppose. I really loved my Faxanadu t-shirt, but my mum threw it away for some reason. ((((
