Default online multiplayer being shut down for 3 C&C games

was looking around and came across this bit of info

it looks like as of june 30th, 2014 EA has killed the online services of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars for PC and Mac (including Kane's Wrath expansion,) Command & Conquer: Generals for PC and Mac (including Zero Hour expansion,) and Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 for PC and Mac, as well as 47 other games. looks like it has something to do with gamespy shutting down in the case of command & conquer, not sure about all the others though.

scratch that, thats why all of these 50 games are losing support.

http://www.ea.com/1/service-updates (see the June 30th, 2014 -- Online Services Shutdown section) boy, that page isn't really about updates at all, just a list of things EA has killed off support for.

Standard stuff from EA. After Origin launch all EA games should have online multiplayer working forever. Blizzard keeps Diablo 1 BN still active. Shuting down PS2 games servers, ok - maybe they are empy for years, but C&C 3, Crysis 2 and other PC games? This is just idiotic.
