    Default Question about batteries

Hello! This is my first post here. First of all, let me say hi (hi ), and since I'm here, I wanna ask a question... about batteries.

I'm gonna be retiring my PSP and DSi (they only have one day left... get it?) and, jokes aside, I wanna know one thing: should I remove the battery or leave it on the console?
I'm not gonna be using them for months (maybe years) and I've heard some people saying that if you leave the batteries without using for a long period of time, it can damage the console, and since I don't want that, I wanna know the best thing to do here.

So, thanks in advance to anyone that can answer me this one.

PS: Sorry for any spelling errors, I'm not a native english speaker

Yeah, if you're packing them away for a long time you should remove the batteries. There's always a chance they might leak and you definitely don't want that to happen inside the consoles.

Thanks! One more thing: should I discharge the battery before removing it?

Actually I know it sounds strange but it's best to leave them charged if you don't plan to use them for any significant length of time. Lithium ion batteries are weird - if they're discharged and left that way for too long they might not charge at all next time you use them. It's also good idea to put the battery back in the console once a year or so just to check it's in decent shape and still holds a charge.
