System sellers?

I WAS BORED SO HERE'S A TOPIC.

Do you have any games you'd consider absolute system sellers? Actually did you buy a system specifically for one game? And yeah even if you got more games for that system later on, I'm mostly just curious if there was ever a time when one single title was the one that gave that final push. You know what I mean.

For me I can think of two at the moment, Shadow of the Colossus was what pushed me to buy a PS2 fairly late into its life cycle. And I got a 3DS mostly for Dual Destinies (and other things, but that's what I absolutely *had* to play).

That's about it. And no, I don't know why I got a PSP! blah blah Japanese games blah? Probably.

So what about you?

I bought a Spectrum for Manic Miner, Commodore 16 for Fingers Malone, N64 mainly for Mario 64, SNES for Mario World and a 3DS for Zelda Link Between Worlds.

Bought the original Xbox just for Halo, and the 360 for Gears of War.
Genesis for Mortal Kombat since it had the blood intact, and a Gamecube just for Eternal Darkness.

Every other system I've owned/own I have because I want and generally enjoy the system.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 and the Dreamcast is the only one I can think of right now.

SNES to play Street Fighter 2.
Dreamcast to play Marvel vs Capcom 2.
Game Cube to play Wind Waker.
PSVita to play Uncharted Golden Abyss.
360 to play Marvel Avengers Alliance Gold Edition.

So yeah, I do this quite a lot

Bought the original Xbox for Morrowind Goty (yeah I knew it wasn't an exclusive title), and played nothing else on it for quite some time
Bought the PS3 for the Uncharted series really, but also Heavy Rain & MGS4.

I feel like I answered this question recently but can't put my finger on where.

My general rule is that I need at least 5 games I want to play on a system before I get it.

Usually I don't, I'll stockpile games I want while waiting on a deal that I like for the system. I don't even know how many Vita games I already have and haven't picked up the system yet

But... REmake. I picked up that and a Cube at the same time, full price, no deals. Not a single regret. The pre-order ballcap I got with REmake is still hands down my favorite hat. I would buy a second in a heartbeat if I ever saw another on eBay, although I've never spotted one, it might've been some Canadian bonus.

I got this , I'll be getting the WiiU and 3DS for Smash Bros and Pokemon Y. Other than that I have a large haul of Playstation, N64 games, and Gameboy titles. I remember back in the day (I laugh about it now) that I always wanted to play Dissidia Final Fantasy for PSP but I could never get an emulator to do it.

XD I had my moments where I wanted alot of things but just could never get my hands on the console or the game itself. Thanks EP for changing all that .

HALO was a real pusher for XBOX. I bought mine specifically after playing the HALO campaign on a friends bigscreen. The XBOX turned out to be an amazing system so I'm pretty happy about my decision. So many great games.
