The only time it bothers me is when it looks like it's clipping but it's actually running smoothly at 60. This was the case with Far Cry 3. It completely ruined the game for me. Every frame rate monitoring software I used reported it at a steady 60, but it looked extremely choppy.
Stuttering/microstuttering, and yeah it's an absolute bitch to deal with. I can handle low framerate after a while but persistent/severe stuttering drives me up the wall if it happens. Thankfully it doesn't really happen to me much.

Actually it was a major issue in the PC version of Thief. Game was running at 60 frames but would stutter from time to time. Had to do some ini tweaks and other shit to mostly get rid of it...

I would of loved to enjoy Far Cry 3.

It sucks when you are sitting there looking at all the settings and realise no matter what you do you're just going to be getting tears/stutters that make you think you are getting 10-5fps..

i don't usually have to worry about this unless i'm trying to emulate something like ps2 or psp games (or N64 but its been a while since i messed with that) course we all know how those can be resource intensive, especially on a laptop. i tend to check the system requirements just so i won't have video related issues (laptop, integrated chipset and whatnot).

OMFG this. I could generally care less about having super-high framerates so long as they're consistent, but the random stuttering in some games drives me absolutely nuts. For me it's even worse with PC games, when I know my specs should be more than sufficient for a game, and even more spec-intensive games run without the stuttering. Fallout NV (before adding the anti-stuttering patch) is a good example; games like Skyrim or Borderlands 2 run more or less perfectly well on this machine on medium-ish or higher settings, but with Fallout every damned time I turn too quickly it has to pause for a second to load the rest of the terrain ;/
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

For me it can really depend on the game. I am currently playing through Metal Gear Rising and can say that the 60 fps really helps it out. The consistent high frame rates in the Gran Turismo games also comes in handy as well. In games such as Skyrim I don't notice it as much since it was still smooth enough for the reaction times required for the game. One of the favorite games of all time, especially for multiplayer, Goldeneye 64, can easily dip in the single digits for framerates. It never stopped me and my friends from playing it and having a very enjoyable time doing it.

Are consistently high framerates good? Yes. Do they make a game look nice? Yes. Are they absolutely required to have fun games. Not absolutely.

Arc Rise Fantasia lagged like a biizzzzzitch. That said I finished it and I'm playing through tales of Lagphonia on PS3 so I guess I can't say I care a ton about this.

Really depends on the game. If I have an action heavy one where timing counts, then I want higher. If it's a turn based game, then who gives a damn if I'm rocking 10 or 60? Still, I can live with 30 as a happy medium or max in virtually any game if it came down to it; you won't see me ranting on some forum that a game is horrible and such if it's not butter smooth 60 frames a second.
