what does this mean --> 'You need to identify to a registered nick to join that channel.' i get that when i try to connect to #Yu-Gi-Oh channel

well, it means you have ti have a registerd nick! Not sure how to do it right now, havn`t been in there in a while! But you can go into some help channels like #dalnethelp

/nickserv register <password>
/nickserv identify <password>
/nickserv access add

then your set...

you missed to /msg bit before nickserv squiz

some servers are different...

but i forget, just do this /msg nickserv like dave said...
