If you can't use your PSN account on it it's rather pointless, importing one at least.

Well, if it eventually comes to the west the original Japanese release consoles might be the ones to have. I could be wrong but the first version may have superior upscaling.

My bad, the original Vita has an upscaler which has been removed from the newer version.
So the original version is the one to get with the video output mod (although it's via USB + PC from what I can gather).

Vita TV upscales to 1080i.

A couple of guys have claimed Vita TV runs western titles ok. P4G was one particular title that was mentioned.

So the eurogamer article might be suspect.

IIRC the games are region free but for the Vita TV you need a Japanese PSN account. So physical copies of games will work fine, there's no lockout there. You won't be able to play any digital games on it unless they're tied to a Japanese account though.

Yeah it's a shame you can't have more than one account on the Vita. :/ I use a US account with mine because all my PS1 games were bought through it.
