Honestly not sure. But I don't think there is a huge difference like the old days.
So this year, not next year or the year after

    I still wouldn't get it.

I am just not usually an early adopter of "next-gen" console tech. I'll wait for at least a year. By then at least some good games will have been released. Plus any bugs that they systems may have will be recognized and hopefully fixed by then.

Though I'm willing to trade a nice complete-in-box copy of MUSHA for Sega Genesis, plus $50, for a paid PS4 pre-order.

    @ Flava

November 29 release date here - same as Europe afaik.
The difference might be that the 2013 orders are sold out here but maybe that's just some retailers, not sure.

Honestly, I only got my PS3 last December. And I'm more interested in Japanese computer games from the 90s.
If I do get a PS4, it'll be right before the PS5 arrives.
. . .y'know, kinda like I got a PSP right before the Vita tv was announced.

Somehow that just doesn't seem like an enticing deal... I know that game is worth some scratch, but is it really that good of a game? I've never played it... I've never been a Genesis guy

I think people will start caring about the PS4 when games start coming out for it.

It's a vertical shoot 'em up by Compile. It's awesome! We should definitely trade though.

Maybe if I had the FM Towns version of Splatterhouse?

FM Towns Splatterhouse would definitely sweeten the pot....
If you could also throw in the FM Towns Shadow of the Beast, I'd be much more inclined to trade

It's literally just there for style, which means because I felt like putting it there for no fucking reason at all.

There's a translated version (VC) on Wii. I think it might be based on the arcade version. Basically uncensored.

Well I'm going to keep calling you 'Spose for style
because it feels more natural somehow.
Also, I shall heretofore be called Origami'
It's got a ring to it

Yeah, but I think that's just the uncensored PCE/TG-16 version. The only thing that was censored in that one in the US was his mask. Because it was too similar to Jason Voorhees' mask. The one to play is the original arcade version of Splatterhouse. It was way more gory with bodies strewn about the back/foreground.

Based on the Japanese Arcade version. Read the info in the thread.
I used the PC-E cover 'cos I'm lazy. Probably a little confusing but the info explains the source and what was done.
    Partial trans.
