Gaming fatigue?

I have a hard time finishing RPG's back to back, so I take a long break in-between them and play other types of games that are more fast paced like shooters and beat em' ups.

It certainly does happen with games that require dedication. My example: I have been playing the first Witcher for about 3 weeks. After finishing it, I made plans to play the second one. I even played it for a while but in the end, I found out that I just couldn't get into it anymore. I started Witcher 2 on May and I have yet to finish it.

That doesn't mean I didn't play any games though. I played all sorts of shooters that were neatly divided into levels. Games that I could play one level/day and feel that I made some progress. Games like Serious Sam, Max Payne and Rogue Trooper. As time goes by and you grow older, you find out you have less time/appetite for long games.

I like longer games but not ones that are crazy long like 70 hours just to finish from start to finish without doing side stuff.

I had been blaming that on aging, but I like the term "Gaming Fatigue" better

I can relate so much to this. I think this generation really brought out the ADHD in me...
