i have to agree that sony is fighting no one lol, both sony and nintendo are doing thier own things. more fun comes when your not competing with anyone for awsome games. now for software, we will see. if we get better jrpg on the ps3 and more hardcore action titles that are exclusive, then it will be an easier win for sony.

Like what other people are saying, it appears that Microsoft is more concerned about TV, movies, chatting, etc. than the actual games. It was disappointing to see that M$ focused more on the TV and Kinect aspect of the Xbox One then showing how the games looked like. Sure, having apps such as Netflix and Skype are useful, but they shouldn't be the main reason why people should buy the Xbox One. The Xbox 360 as well as the other consoles already do most of those things.

We used to joke that the 360 was for people who didn't play games and bought one sport title a year or so.. I'm starting to think Microsoft might be in on the joke now.

Yes the name is very stupid, people call the original Xbox "Xbox 1". It's as if they're gonna act like the previous xbox's never happened.

About the multimedia aspects, microsoft always wanted to do that from the beginning. They called it "conquering the living room" and they had a rivalry with sony over it, and they were initially interested in teaming up with sega because of it. In the end they decided to just let sega die and made a Dreamcast replica with slightly better graphics and called it Xbox. The 360 was pretty much the same thing except that they marketed the shit out of it until everyone had bought it and all sony third party exclusives became multiplatform.

These were all preparation for this, they think that they can create themselves a monopoly on everything entertainment related and then rip the benefits forever like they did with Windows.

I hope that these shitty "features" will wake people up and not buy it, but I too think that in the end everyone is gonna buy it and pay them for EVERYTHING because the exact same thing happened with Xbox Gold.

However, I seriously hope that at least hardcore gamers and people who actually care about gaming to not go along with Microsoft in this gen. Remember Gypsy, If you don't buy the system, the exclusives will not remain exclusives. Hang in there!

Short version: any fancy headset you own this gen, will not work on the Xbone. That kinda pisses me off because I bought a really nice Turtle Beach set not too long ago, and it wasn't cheap. Now it's useless? I can understand controllers and peripherals not working on new stuff, it never does, but a 5.1 surround headset?

I hope this isn't the case with the PS4 as well - my headset works on both systems and I'll really be bummed if Sony burns me as well.

True. With the RRoD under control, their sales are not what they used to be. That, and the lack of relevant exclusivities aside from the Kinect crap would explain how the PS3 managed to equal, and even surpass, the 360's global sales figures despite being released one year later.
