thats alot of useful info, sadly though i wont be using dlc. if it was done right i would. as for the rest i will remember about those weapons. basicly, i am focusing on melee, stealth, weapons. since i dont have to worry about karma in this one i will be extra careful but stay on peoples good side.

    For Stealth...
Ratslayer: A fully modified Varmint Rifle (Night-V scope, Silencer, Extended Mag). Has a higher base damage and crit chance. The good side is the crit chance, downside is the crit damage.
A bit early-mid game but apparently a gun called the Abilene Kid LE BB gun is good for light targets for sneak criticals. Base damage is pathetic but with a crit the gun hits like a brick.
Otherwise, I think a Sniper Rifle with a Silencer attachment is the best you can get. Second best are the 12.7mm pistol and smg, but they're not too accurate. For automatic weapons, using vats is ideal so that you can rack up the burst instead of 1 bullet in real time (least that's how I think it works).

Forgot to mention the Ripper for Melee. Pretty much for Melee, any automatic weapon racks up high dps. Lastly, I didn't look into it much but changing ammo type for certain situations help.

    Take this:
    http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Fallout:_New_Vegas
it has everything you could ever ask for, the Fallout wikis are probably some of the best written and more detailed wikis out there.

AND, in order to avoid some bugs, remember to periodically delete your autosaves (once 10 hours of gameplay), also delete your manual saves once in a while and save in the empty slots, you can have as many saves as you want (but it takes more to load them if you have a lot). This should prevent data corruption.
Try to do the quests in ORDER, dont jump steps or kill NPCs if you arent told to. The wiki has a list of quest related NPCs (some are excluyent), and every quest page has his stages detailed, try to follow them. This is to prevent game unstability, and failed side quests.

Well that's one way to go about it. Generally speaking though you can get the highest volume of valuable items just by finding locations inhabited by humans (the fiends, powder gang, etc)
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

yeah i kind of figured that much. getting bottle caps is easy, figuring out what kind of ammo you need is hard. i have so many shotguns and pistols its not funny lol.

Welp, I made a new playthrough again for FO:NV. It's only been 4 days but I'm at level 16 now, just got Jury Rigging. So for this run I decided to primarily use Energy Weapons and Unarmed; also using a Perk every level mod.

Personally, I have a hard time racking up caps. I don't really put points with Barter/Speech because I just like shooting stuff =D so I avoided guns mostly for this reason. Armor Piercing rounds are better than Max Charge for -DT, but Max Charge has a damage buff. For most AP rounds you have to buy the mas well. Either way I can recycle for standard Cell ammuntion and covert to Overcharged or Max Charge if needed. Patiently trying to get all 50 Star Caps to get the Pew-Pew n.n
I will try a guns route some other time though. With Gun Runners Arsenal DLC you can craft AP 5mm rounds but those guns require 100 Guns skill. I'm still at 30 EW as I'm working on Unarmed skills first and Laser Commander is at 22 anyway.

Pretty fun though. Never thought I'd have a lot of fun spamming accurate laser shots down range. I tried plasma but they weren't accurate, too slow, and slow fire rate, but I keep a Multi-Plas rifle as a shotgun just in case. Currently I gambled in all 3 of the strip's Casinos and got banned after capping out the max winnings limit, each ending with a 35:1 200 bet at roulette. Took a lot of time but I figured I could really use it since I have a hard time making caps myself.

If the game isn't updated - at the Vicki and vance casino you can trade in your chips without having them leave your inventory and just do it over and over. You mentioned a mod, are you on PC? If so and your already cheating so to speak then there's probably something for caps anyways.

Yeah, I play on PC and my game is on Patch 1.4 which I think is the latest. The only mods I'm using so far are the Perk every level and the Bloody Mess "less bloody." Otherwise I play the game pretty fairly, but it's true that getting a Perk every level is cheating. I compared them to Fallout 3's perks and I found FO:NV having much more useful perks imo. I think I'll replay the game fairly without it and finally beat the entire game, but will probably change the SPECIAL.

It's not that bad if you have all the dlc then your lvl cap is raised to 50 and obviously can grab more perks. Kinda pointless though, I never even got close to 50 by the time I platted the game.

Your guns wear down eventually. You need to repair them.

Yesterday I decided to play NV again. Went with Sneak/Guns/Repair as my tag skills along with a mostly crit build. Got shotgun surgeon (OMFG... Useful) with a crit build. Slugs are the way to go. I also have the game on Hardcore / Hard Mode (Not very hard, Very Hard is wayyyy too hard.) I can take out almost any monster/human with a single sneak crit to the head. I also picked up the Ratslayer (although it was very difficult to grab because those rats are rediculously OP on hard mode... Stealth boys are your friend). Also, if your weapons aren't doing as much dmg as they used too, it's probably because of shot placement. Aim for the weak spots. VATS is very useful in trying to figure them out.
