Default Your Most Moving / Powerful Game Intro

As the title says, What for you was the most personally powerful or moving intro for a game.

The age or platform does not matter, Providing Youtube links would be awesome to show it to others if possible!

    I'll start

Fallout (as in the first one not 3 / NV)

Why: It hits you how fucked the world is once it pans out slowly, echoing showing how lifeless the world has become and leaves at least me with a sense of loneliness. the Voice and dialogue for what happened before the atomic war happened also resonate to me personally as I see this is the sort of thing that would happen given humanity and how it is.

    How about you guys

When you say "Intro", do you just mean an unplayable intro? Or can it be the opening level of a game that is setting up the story?

    I'll go with this:

Also, this next one isn't particularly the opening, but it's at the beginning of the game, so it still kinda counts! Has to be one of the best scenes in the game. Dat music.

I'll second that Mass Effect 2 intro - I was going to use it but you beat me to it
I'm a big fan of the God of War III intro, and basically entire first stage - it's pretty epic

Also a fan of the Half-Life 2 intro - the opening and the initial gameplay where you wander through the train station and bits of City 17 - fantastic

Also, another great intro is Metal Gear Solid 3 - I'm not positing it because it's entirely too long, but it's a hell of a set up.

    Wild Arms 3

Why: I just really like the animation and the portrayal of the unity between the characters before you actually start playing the game. Plus this intro changes after every chapter in the game (only 4 chapters)

Keeping them short is definitely the best way to go.

I'm torn between Dawn of Dreams or Onimusha 3, but in the end, I choose thee:

It really summarizes the whole franchise: you are a Genma-slaying samurai with the power of an Oni. Screw the story for it's been told to death (it's jidai geki after all), here's some action.

Also, Dawn of Dreams tried an animesque approach in a franchise that emphasizes realism (it was built on RE's engine after all). As much as I like DoD's intro, I'll go with Onimusha 3 for keeping the style intact while raising the awesomeness bar.

Here's another one I really like - one of the first PS1 games I really got into, and it's stuck with me ever since

I'm surprised I'm the first to remember the epicness that is Melee:
