Default nintento systems emulation on phone

So I have had emulators on my phone for a while now and the roms used to work perfectly. However, now it seems that they are lagging. nothing too severe, but still easily noticed. For example: I would be playing pokemon and like every half second it would lag for a fraction of a second. I just wanna know if this is common or not. Like are my roms degrading?

Might be a good idea to mention what OS your phone is using.
