    Default Wierd PSP Analog Stick

My the analog stick on my psp is working kind of wierd. I thought it was just me at first but then I noticed how my character in gta: lcs kept moving right when i was trying to go to the forward and left :'(

it made sense to me know that i thought it was just bad input from me while playing dissidia and fight night

is there anything i can do to fix it?

Depending on your model of psp, maybe you should order a new thumbstick online. they shouldn't cost more than $5 (idk how to convert currencies to other countries) online and they're extremely easy to replace. If you have a psp 1000, try tightening the screw on the back of the psp that is nearestto the headphone jack.

It could be gummed up and best off replaced. A new part is very cheap like zuNinja said:

Make sure you get the right stick for your PSP model though. That is the 1000.

Opening your PSP voids the warranty and is not suggested without first understanding the risks. Basically, don't take it apart if you don't think you can put it back together afterward.

Haha thanks. I have a 2000 model. I don't even know if this thing has a warranty and I got it from someone years ago

There probably is no warranty anymore, but take caution anyhow.
The strafing issue can ruin some games and is quite common of PSP that actually get played.

There should be some guides have a look first before asking questions.
You might be able to work it out yourself

Or just harass Jazz via PM's & VM's

I was looking at the guides before I asked the question but I didn't seem to find what I was looking for. I was planning on modding a few other psps I have and the firmwares that were discussed were from 2010/2011 threads, like this one http://www.epforums.org/showthread.p...-and-additions!

I was wondering if this is what I needed or if there was something better. The other thread was talking about a 5.xx cfw for the psp and I'm looking to upgrade from the m33-6 frimware thingie if it's recommended and so I can pay this Ragnarok Tactics game I borrowed

from what i had heard a while back, i thought it was impossible to get to cfw pretty easily even on newer firmwares without any hassle

    nice cheeks

Actually installing CFW is incredibly easy nowadays. You can find a really good tutorial here.

    The gist of it is.

    1. Update to 6.60 OFW.
    2. Download 6.60 PRO and extract to MS.
    3. Run 6.60 PRO updater.
    4. Enjoy!

These kids have it WAY to easy.
Back in my day we had to hack open our batteries and crash the running config to reach dev mode.

lol. Yep, I remember the first time I installed a CFW. I had to find GTA Liberty City Stories and used that as an exploit. I can't remember the firmware. I do remember having to turn my battery into a Pandora Battery though later on and installing 5.00M33. Although I never hard-wired it, I just ran a program. I remember accidentally deleting my EEPROM backup. That was tense until I found a download online.
